Woman Charged With OWI After Wrecking Into School Bus

The accident happened as students were on their way to the first day of school in Erlanger.

(Erlanger, Ky.) - A Kenton County woman is facing several charges after a crash with a school bus.

Erlanger Police say Brittany Everhart, 31, of Independence, was driving drunk about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning when she slammed into a bus at Turkeyfoot Road and Misty Creek Drive.

Eight children heading to their first day of school were onboard, but no injuries were reported.

Everhart was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood for injuries she suffered in the collision.  

Officers charged Everhart with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and nine counts of Wanton Endangerment.
