SOUTHWESTERN GIRLS SOCCER TIE WITH CHARLESTOWN 1-1 Tonight we celebrated our 6 seniors, Cambryn Bryant, Kearsty Cizek, Hannah Sampson, Adrea Liter, Aleana Meador and Jenney Tankersley. They each played well and played hard as did the team. Charlestown scored a goal in the first half. I was proud of how our girls continued to challenge for this game. Cambryn Bryant scored in the second half and we ended in a 1-1 tie.
SOUTHWESTERN BOYS TENNIS DEFEATS GREENSBURG 4-1
SOUTHWESTERN VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS MILAN 3-1
Southwestern defeated Milan tonight 3-1: 25-27, 25-15, 25-23, 26-24.Riley Scroggins was 32 for 35 hitting with 11 kills and 19 for 24 serving with 13 aces.
Emma Long was 28 for 30 hitting with 13 kills and 10 for 10 serving and 15 for 17 passing with 5 digs. Parker Mefford was 19 for 19 passing with 18 digs.
Allison Birchfield was 11 for 11 passing with 10 digs and 14 for 15 serving with 1 ace. Quote: Tonight was a battle with Milan. They definitely out played us at times but our serving and our offense kept us in it. Riley Scroggins had an amazing serving night with 13 aces and was a big part of our offense as well. Emma Long did a great job offensively for us tonight. She really was a dependable hitter throughout the match.
Southwestern is currently 6-8 and 2-1 in the ORVC. We travel to Shawe Thursday for a 6pm match.
