Big afternoon for Hanover College Athletics

HANOVER COLLEGE ATHLETICS:

The defense was dominate as the Hanover College football team rolled to a 48-7 home win over Defiance Saturday afternoon to stay unbeaten in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Panthers have now won four in a row and stand 4-0 in conference and 4-2 on the season. Hanover has outscored their opponent 214 to 42 in the last four games.

The Hanover College women's soccer team outshot HCAC foe, Bluffton University, 42-0 en route to a dominant 4-0 victory Saturady afternoon. The win marks the team's 12th in a row and takes the Panthers, currently ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches national poll, to 12-1-0 overall and a perfect 5-0-0 in conference play. The Beavers, meanwhile, fall to 1-11-1 overall and 0-5-0 in the HCAC.

Hanover College men's soccer won their 6th in a row with a 4-0 HCAC win over Bluffton. Panthers are now 8-5 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC.

Hanover College women's tennis shutout both Defiance and Manchester 9-0 on the way to their 47th and 48th consecutive HCAC win. The win also gave the Panthers the #1 seed in the post-season conference tournament.

The Hanover volleyball team picked up a pair of neutral-site, non-conference victories Saturday afternoon against Kentucky Christian and Millsaps (Miss.) at Centre College.

Hanover women's golf stands in 5th after the first round of the HCAC Tournament. 

 

IHSAA CROSS COUNTRY REGIONAL:

Southwestern boys finished 7th over all at the Brown Co. Cross Country Regional. Rebels, Bradley Winston placed 10th and Trevor Smith 29th as both advance to the Semi-State.

Switzerland Co. was 7th and Madison 10th in the girls Cross County Regional at Brown Co. Lady Pacer Leah Anders was 6th, Shawe's Lauren Lundergan was 16th and Lady Cub, Brett Cahall was 28th and will advance to the Semi-State.

Shawe falls to Trinity Lutheran 3-0 in semi-finals @ West Washington

Southwestern falls to North Decatur 3-0 in semi-finals @ Southwestern
