Southwestern defeats Madison 2-1:  Mitchell Cline and Kaden Zellers goals for the Rebels. Luis Enciso scored the lone goal for Madison.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS GOLF:

Southwestern shot a 212 to finish 2nd in a four-team event at Scottsburg. Scottsburg won the match with a 191. Paoli was 3rd and Clarksville 4th. Emma Foley shot a 49 for the Lady Rebels.

 

Madison's Ryan Thurston took a tough-luck loss for the GCL Blue Jays in the Rookie Gulf Coast League against the GCL Phillies West on Thursday by a score of 4-2.  Thurston made his 3rd start and 11 appearance overall and worked 5 innings.  During his 5 innings of work, Thurston gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, no earned runs, no walks, and struck out 5. For the season, Thurston has worked 26 innings, given up 13 hits, 7 runs, 3 earned runs, 8 walks and has 32 strikeouts.  He currently sports a 1.04 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP.
