Area Sports Results From Thursday, January 30th

High school basketball

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Madison defeats 1A #1 Trinity Lutheran 55-36. Lady Cubs were led by Harper Watson with 13 points. Madison moves to sectional play on Friday, February 7th against the winner of the Corydon- #6 ranked Silver Creek game at Charlestown. Lady Cubs finish the regular season at 14-8.

Southwestern gave it all they had but fall to 1A #7 Jac-Cen-Del 49-45. The Lady Eagles capture the ORVC girls basketball title. Southwestern will take on North Decatur on Tuesday, February 4th in their first game at the Switzerland Co. sectional. Lady Rebels finish 16-7 on the regular season.

Switzerland Co. over South Ripley 45-40. Lady Pacers were led by Aleiah Thomas with 18 and Kyah Chase with 12. Switzerland Co. will host the winner of the South Ripley-Milan game on Friday, February 7th. Lady Pacers finish the regular season at 15-8.

Carroll Co. defeats Dayton in overtime 58-54. Layne Huesman 17 to lead the Lady Panthers.

Shawe falls on the road to Rising Sun 42-26
