Hanover with two HCAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors

Girls High School Basketball:

Carroll County Lady Panthers defeat North Bullitt on the road 51-38! Searcy lead the Panthers with 26, and Knight followed with 14. The Lady Panthers go to North Oldham tonight at 7 PM

 

Hanover Track and Field:

Two Hanover Track athletes were named HCAC Track Athlete of the Week, one on the mens side, and one on the womens side.

Freshman Zaleeya Martin (Shelbyville, Ind.) earned her first HCAC Track Athlete of the Week honor yesterday. She recorded an impressive day as part of the Tiger Small College Invitational hosted by DePauw University garnering two first-place finishes while tying a school-record time. Her 60-meter dash time landed her as the favorite to win the HCAC and placed her among the top 100 in Division III.

On the mens side of things, Sophomore Bryce Gatewood (Noblesville, Ind.) was named the HCAC Track Athlete of the Week yesterday as well. He paced the Panthers as part of the Tiger Small College Invite earning a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.45 seconds. His time propelled him into second among the HCAC. As a unit, the Panthers finished second overall in the 12-team field with 94 points. The Blue and Red return to action this Saturday when they compete as part of the DePauw Indoor Invitational.
