Madison hires news boys basketball, no surprise here

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL:

Madison falls 7-0 to 4A No. 3 Columbus East in the consolation semifinals of the HHC tournament. Cubs will play Seymour for 7th place on Friday.

Shawe beats New Washington 4-3.

Switzerland County fell 9-1 to 1A No. 4 Rising Sun

South Ripley over Milan 6-3

 

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL:

Madison over Lawrenceburg 11-0

Southwestern beats Eastern (Pekin) 5-1

Shawe falls 10-0 to New Washington

Trimble Co. falls 15-0 to Oldham Co.

Milan defeats South Ripley 7-5

Carroll Co. over Eminence 9-5

 

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TENNIS:

Madison falls to Columbus East 4-1 in the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament consolation semi-finals. Lady Cubs will play for 7th tomorrow.

 

To no one's surprise, last night the Madison school board announced the hiring of their new boys’ varsity basketball coach. Former Shawe coach Sherron Wilkerson was hired by a 5-0 vote by the board. Wilkerson coached one season at Shawe with a 4-19 record. He replaces Mark McFarland, who was 21-27 in two seasons with the Cubs.
