Hanover played their very first NCAA DIII Tournament game against the Purple Raiders in 1995 in Alliance, Ohio and fell 52-18.

The Panthers who claimed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title outright after going a perfect 7-0 in conference action, for the first time since the 2003 season, will be making their second consecutive playoff appearance. Prior to the 2018 season, the Panthers last appearance came in 2003.
