Hanover College Sweep Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Most Valuable Player Awards

IHSAA sectional semi-finals and NCAA DIII first round tomorrow

For the second consecutive year, Cam Fails of the Hanover men's basketball team has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player. Panther head coach Jon Miller also won Coach of the Year accolades. Sophomore Issac Hibbard and junior Kevin Williams each received their first all-conference awards, as they were named to the second and honorable mention teams, respectively. Junior Logan Ratts was also announced as Hanover's selection for the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship team. The Panthers take on Wheaton College in the first round of the NCAA DIII National Tournament tomorrow, 5:30 at the College of Wooster. We will have live updates on the game tomorrow night.

Hanover College sweeps the HCAC MVP awards as junior Alexis Nall was named most valuable player for women's basketball. Nall becomes the first Hanover women's basketball player to receive HCAC MVP honors since Molly Martin did so in 2010-11. The junior is also just the third player in program history to earn the award from the HCAC. Former Madison Lady Cub, Junior Katie Hartman earned her first all-conference award, as she was named to the honorable mention team for Hanover. Panthers also placed  senior Morgan Bivins  to the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship team.

IHSAA Boys Basketball Semi-finals tomorrow night as Shawe takes on host West Washington and #1 Southwestern plays host South Ripley. Our cover of the Rebels and Raiders begin around 7:15.

Madison sophomore Jade Nutley has been named an IBCA All-State Underclassmen Honorable Mention selection in girls basketball.
