South Ripley 9, Shawe 2

Shawe Memorial returned home to face ORVC rival South Ripley Monday afternoon.  In spite of a better performance, the Hilltoppers were on the wrong end of a 9-2 decision.  Jacob Hart started on the mound and was tagged with the loss going 4 innings allowing 8 runs only 4 earned while giving up 5 hits and striking out 3   His brother Joe pitched 3 innings in relief allowing only one unearned run. He didn’t give up a hit and struck out 4 while walking 4. Shawe had 4 hits and was led by Jacob Hart who was 2/3 at the plate.  Trae Liston had 2 RBIS and Brogan Johnson added a single.

Southwestern boys golf got the win tonight at The Links Golf Course in Rising Sun. Southwestern finished with a team score of 160 over Rising Sun (171) and Switzerland Co. (186). Wayde Barker led Southwestern, finishing 2nd overall with a 37.
