It just wasn't our night to night, overall. Emmi was medalist, but even she had a bad bounce here and a bad bounce there that kind of stopped her from posting a really good score. I don't know if it was because we were playing on the tail end of back-to-back-back or what, but there was just a lot of inconsistent play out there.
Emmi was nice and controlled and better than her score would indicate tonight. I like where her game is at. I never want to count chickens before they're hatched, but she's looking pretty good for the postseason.
Claire was also a bright spot and might be starting to really figure some things out. Coach Amanda (Detmer-Leary) and I think her talent is sky is the limit.
There were just too many small errors. A stroke here or there, and we're talking about a win. I like to say that you learn more from failure, though, so we'll see. Otherwise, we're going to reset over the weekend, remember the positives from the week, and shore up some things.

Southwestern and Scottsburg ended in 1-1 DRAW
played to a 1-1 tie at Scottsburg tonight. I was very proud of each one of our girls. We played down a player the entire match and everyone played as a team, played hard, and played with integrity. Scottsburg went up 1 on us but we didn't lose heart. Not long after, Harlee Turner sent a beautiful free kick over the defense which Amelia Sloan received and put in for a score. Madi Dixon and Julia Pelsor did a great job on the wing defenses, shutting down several threats. Aubrey O'Dell did a stellar job defending in her first goalie outing.
