Cross Country ;

The Hilltoppers were in action on Saturday participating in the Duke Meyer Invitational. All teams had to battle very wet and muddy Hanover course conditions. Top finishers for the Lady Hilltoppers were Allison Knoebel placing 17th with a a time of 23:45. Top finishers for the boys were Cavaan Hambrick placing 20th with a time of 18:56 and Nate Fewell placing 22nd with a time of 19:00. The Hilltoppers will be back in action this coming Saturday at the Nike Twilight race at the Laverne Gibson course in Terre Haute.

Southwestern Cross Country at the Duke Meyer Invitational Today: SW Girls finished 2nd. Boys did not field a full team due to injuries. Savannah Nussbaum won the Invite Indidvidually Tori Gammons, Chloe Sprayberry and Mikayla Nussbaum also won Medals.

Southwestern won the Marc Baum Memorial Tournament Saturday going 3-0 on the day.

Southwestern defeated Switzerland County 2-0: 25-20, 25-11

Southwestern defeated South Central 2-0: 25-17, 25-19

Southwestern defeated New Washington 2-0 25-23, 25-11

Stats for the day: Harlee Hill had 21 kills, 8 aces, and 20 digs, Rorie Scroggins had 22 kills, 4 blocks, Allison Birchfield had 13 kills, 4 aces, and 15 digs, Jenna Owens had 9 kills, 1 block, 6 aces, and 10 digs, Raygan Crawford had 5 kills and 5 digs, Hillarie Buchanan had 5 aces on 30 for 30 serving, 57 assists, and 12 digs, Jocelyn Johnson had 13 digs on 12 for 13 passing and 1 ace on 12 for 13 serving, Kaylee Hite had 1 ace on 11 for 11 serving and 13 digs.

Soccer: 

Madison Cubs Womens Varsity Team stepped up Saturday against a very good Batesville side, ranked 20th in Class 2A, on a very inclement weather day. The Team won their 10th game of the season defeating Batesville by the score of 2-0. Scoring for the Lady Cubs was Kyra Ayler with 2 goals. 

Goal Keepers Peighton Chatham another shutout and everyone (Kylie Montgomery, Dellah Gibson, Lilli Sullivan, Autumn Ross, Kamea Phelps, Kennedy Sheets, Ellie Mahoney, Rae Hearne, Jadelyn Abbott, Tayler Chatham, Bridgett Boles, and Ava Smith) who played in the contest combined for a clean sheet for the contest in this defensive battle.
