Silver Creek Little League State Champions

Thurstons ERA now sub 1.00 on the season

Silver Creek Little League baseball team won its first state title on Saturday defeating Brownsburg 6-0. Silver Creek will next play in the Great Lakes Regional at Grand Park in Westfield, where it will face the state champion from Ohio at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 in the first game. The winner will take on the Kentucky State Champions on Aug. 5 while the loser will take on the loser of game 4 on Aug. 6. The winner of the region advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Madison’s Ryan Thurston pitched 3 2/3 innings on Saturday for the Gary Southshore Railcats against the Chicago Dogs. Thurston faced 13 batters giving up 3 hits, no runs, no walks and struckout 4. His ERA dropped to 0.71 on the season.
