3 arrested after Kentucky teen is kidnapped, locked in back of U-Haul In Ohio

National Crime Information Center Data Base for missing persons helped with locating

On April 20, 2019 Deputy Hunter Luttrell with the Knox Co. Kentucky Sheriff's Department received a report of a missing 16 year old female. After contacting the relative reporting person and conducting an initial investigation, the missing juvenile was entered into the National Crime Information Center Data Base for missing persons.

On April 21, 2019 Deputy Luttrell was notified that the Cincinnati Ohio Police Department had taken the juvenile into custody after receiving a tip that a girl was being kept in the back of a U-Haul truck in a parking lot. While verifying the juvenile’s identifying information, Cincinnati authorities got a “hit” on Deputy Luttrell’s NCIC entry.

On April 21, 2019 Deputy Luttrell traveled to Cincinnati to pick up the missing juvenile. After interviewing the juvenile and talking with the Cincinnati Officers, Deputy Luttrell learned that the juvenile had been taken by the three adults, Michael Nason, Tiffany Cheek and Carl Hickman of Corbin, KY. Tiffany Cheek, an acquaintance of the juvenile, had lured the juvenile from her residence under false pretenses of being her guardian.

The juvenile was locked in the back of a U-Haul with one of the adults, Michael Nason age 34, where they engaged in sexual activity. The U-Haul eventually ended up in a parking lot in Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Police Officers arrested Carl Hickman age 27 of Corbin, KY on drug charges and did not charge the other two adults.

After returning to Knox County Deputy Luttrell obtained warrants on Nason and Cheek.

On April 22, 2019 at approximately 11:30 pm Deputy Luttrell along with Deputy Bobby Jones arrested Michael Nason age 34 of Corbin, KY charging him with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, Custodial Interference-felony, Kidnapping-minor, Human Trafficking-victim under 18 years of age, Rape-3rd Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment-1st Degree, Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree and 3rd Degree. He was also wanted on a Knox County Arrest for Flagrant Non-Support.

Tiffany Cheek age 29 of Corbin, KY was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, Custodial Interference-felony, Kidnapping-minor, Human Trafficking-victim under 18 years of age, Unlawful Imprisonment-1st Degree, Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree and 3rd Degree.

Carl Hickman will also be facing the same charges as Tiffany Cheek after being extradited back to Kentucky.
Michael Nason and Tiffany Cheek were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.

The investigation is continuing by Deputy Luttrell.
