All-way stop coming to U.S. 421 in Downtown Madison

Change is being made to improve the overall safety

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is scheduled to install an all-way stop at the intersection of U.S. 421 and Milton Street on or after Tuesday, August 18, in Madison.

Installation of the all-way stop is expected to take up to one day, weather permitting. This change is being made to improve the overall safety at the intersection. Drivers should use extra caution in the area while motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
