(Hebron, Ky.) – Amazon has had a presence in northern Kentucky since 1999 when it opened two fulfillment centers.

Since then, the global giant has seen significant expansion in the area with 11 fulfillment centers, five delivery stations, and a $1.5 billion state-of-the-art air hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

Earlier this year, a proposal was brought forward for an Amazon refueling center. Amazon is seeking a Conditional Use Permit to allow a truck fueling and charging station to be developed along the south side of Litton Lane – which is approximately 300 feet west of North Bend Road.

The proposal for the 33-acre site, capable of handling 600 trucks per day includes electric power for EV vans, pumps for semi-trucks, a maintenance building for truck repair, sleeping quarters for drivers and will operate 24 hours, seven days a week.

A public meeting was held on Thursday night. Community members expressed their concerns regarding noise concerns, traffic, etc.

A hearing will be held on November 12 to vote on the proposal.
