FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 22, 2022) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced today that the Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention (CSAEP) Board within the Attorney General’s office is accepting Child Victims’ Trust Fund (CVTF) grant applications until 4:30 p.m. ET on April 20, 2022. Organizations dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation, including Kentucky non-profits, public agencies, and Children’s Advocacy Centers, are invited to apply.

“Organizations that build programming focused on preventing child sexual abuse are essential to keeping Kentucky kids safe,” said Attorney General Cameron.  “We are thankful for the work of our partners across the Commonwealth, and we invite these organizations to apply for funding from the Child Victims’ Trust Fund so that together we can continue to advance our shared mission to protect Kentucky’s most vulnerable.”

Organizations may apply for Child Victims’ Trust Fund grants and medical reimbursements for the 2023 fiscal year by visiting https://icareaboutkids.ky.gov/Pages/How-We-Help.aspx.  Questions regarding the grant application process can be submitted to icareaboutkids@ky.gov or by calling 502-696-5436. Applications must be submitted by mail to 1024 Capital Center Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601 or by email to icareaboutkids@ky.gov.

In 2021, the CSAEP Board awarded more than $166,000 in grant funding to assist organizations across the Commonwealth in their work to prevent child sexual abuse. Kentucky Kids on the Block, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, Child Watch Counseling and Advocacy Center, Inc., Family Nurturing Center of Kentucky, and the Exploited Children’s Help Organization received grants.

The CSAEP Board combats child abuse by awarding grants to Kentucky organizations operating programs that prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation.  The Board also provides financial support for medical examinations of children believed to be victims of abuse through the Child Sexual Abuse Medical Reimbursement Program.

Created in 1984, and administered by the CSAEP Board, the Child Victims’ Trust Fund is a 170(c)(1) non-profit providing financial support for prevention programs, Children’s Advocacy Centers, and victims across the state. The fund operates on proceeds from the purchase of “I Care About Kids” license plates, donations from state income tax refunds, and private donations.

Kentuckians wishing to join the fight to end child abuse can donate a portion of their state tax refund to CSAEP by checking the box on their state tax income form. For more information about donating, visit https://icareaboutkids.ky.gov/Pages/Donate.aspx.
