(Madison, Ind.) - For years, the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce has administered a widely-successful community gift card program. In January, the program went digital with eGift Cards redeemable at a variety of local Chamber-member businesses through a partnership with Yiftee, Inc.

The Chamber announced its expansion of the Madison Chamber CA$H Community Card program to include ANY area business, regardless of membership for free through December 31.

“Our community has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Madison area businesses are resilient and we all need to come together with support. This is something we can do to give our shops, restaurants, and service industries a boost,” said Lindsay Bloos, Executive Director, “But this is not just a program for the crisis at hand, it is good for the community long-term to keep local dollars local, and support our economy.”

Yiftee, Inc., a leader since 2012 in eGift Cards, also made a big announcement yesterday as they partnered with Facebook and Instagram to feature the cards. People on Facebook can discover the Madison Chamber CA$H digital gifts (and merchant Express Gifts) on Facebook and complete their purchase, thereby supporting local businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic and accelerating recovery whether they are open now or not. They are rolling this out city-by-city, but the change is on the horizon.

Sign Up in Minutes

Local businesses will fill out a simple form and will be sent a merchant-specific activation card with instructions to run on their PoS system. Once the activation card is received, it takes just a minute to run through the PoS system. The merchant can then begin accepting Madison Chamber CA$H Community Cards within about 24 hours. If a merchant needs help, they can contact the Chamber for further assistance.

Express Cards

Express Cards are different from the Madison Chamber CA$H Community Card program. They are specific to the individual business. The Chamber will be sending out a link to Chamber members which will allow them to sign up for their own eGift Cards.

The eGifts will soon be displayed to neighbors for purchase when they login to Facebook. On Instagram, merchants directly using Yiftee’s Express eGift Card platform can add a button to their Instagram profile to purchase their cards on Yiftee and soon promote them by using a new “Gift Cards” sticker in Stories. The button and stickers will link directly to the merchant’s branded Yiftee webpage for purchase. People can also re-share the sticker in their own Stories, helping drive awareness of how they can support local businesses.

It just takes a few minutes to get a custom-branded eGift Card that merchants can also sell from their own websites, blogs, social media, and email marketing lists. Yiftee handles security and fraud protection, payment processing, gift delivery via email, text, or print, customer support, analytics, and reporting. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Yiftee is waiving their usual $29.95/month subscription fee for Express Cards through September 30, 2020, and will reassess at that time. Card buyers generally pay the $1+5% eDelivery fee, which covers processing costs, so that merchants get 100% of the eGift value, though merchants may choose to absorb this cost.
