Clark County Man Arrested for Impersonation of an Officer

(Scott County, Ind.) – Late Thursday evening, June 11 Scott County Deputies Kenton Makowsky and Charlie Morgan made a traffic stop on Interstate 65.

During the traffic stop, deputies made contact with the driver, William McCoy, 33, of Clark County. During the search, deputies located two flashlights taped to the rearview mirror. When turned on, they were shown to display red and blue lighting.

Deputies also located a navy blue at with “Narcotic Officer” inscribe on it. After a continued search of the vehicle, officers found two navy blue uniform security officer shirts, sleeve patches, and a back patch.

Deputies also located a sawed-off shotgun with no serial numbers and a black cinch style bag that contained unused syringes, white residue, and scales. Officers also located over three grams of suspected Methamphetamine and a small amount of Marijuana.

McCoy was then arrested on the following charges:

  • Dealing in Methamphetamine 1g to 5g (Firearm Enhancement)
  •  Obliterating Identification Marks on a Handgun
  • Impersonating a Public Servant- Law Enforcement Officer
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Unlawful Possession of a Syringe
  • Maintaining a Common Nuisance
  • Possession of Paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana
