Closure will begin on near May 15th

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of the south entrance to Clifty Falls State Park next week for a slide repair project. The south entrance is located off of Clifty Hollow Road (previously S.R. 56) near Madison.
Beginning on or after Monday, May 15, crews will begin work to stabilize a section of roadway and adjacent hillside (east of Clifty Inn) with soil nails and shotcrete. Guardrail installation will follow.
The south park entrance is expected to reopen prior to Memorial Day weekend. Visitors should use the north entrance off of S.R. 62/Clifty Drive during the closure.
INDOT reminds drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
