FAA to Reduce Flights at 40 Major Airports

(Hebron, Ky.) - The Federal Aviation Administration has announced a 10 percent reduction in flight capacity at 40 major airports across the U.S.

The decision stems from staffing shortages and fatigue among air traffic controllers amid the government shutdown, which has been ongoing since October 1. 

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is expected to see a 10 percent reduction in flights. 

The cuts are expected to begin on Friday, November 7 and are expected to impact flights scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

International flights are exempt from the reductions. 

Other regional airports such as Louisville and Indianapolis are also on the list of airports that are expected to see flight reductions.
