Four Dead, Three Injured in Florence Shooting

The incident took place at a home on Ridgecrest Drive early Saturday morning.

UPDATE: Florence Police have identified the four victims who suffered fatal gunshot wounds, and the suspect who is also deceased. 

The deceased victims have been identified as: Shane Miller, 20 years of age, from Florence, KY; Hayden Rybicki, 20 years of age, from Elsmere, KY; Delaney Eary, 19 years of age, from Burlington, KY; Melissa Parrett, 44 years of age, from Florence, KY

The suspect, who is deceased, has been identified as Chase Garvey, 21 years of age, from Florence, KY

 

(Florence, Ky.) - Four people are dead and three others injured after a shooting at a private residence on Ridgecrest Drive in Florence. 

Florence Police responded to the residence on Saturday around 2:51 a.m. 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located seven victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Four were pronounced dead at the scene, while three were transported to UC Medical Center where they are listed in critical but stable condition. 

Officers then located the fleeing suspect near Farmview Drive and U.S. 42 and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect continued to flee and the pursuit came to an end on Dale Heimbrock Way near Hicks Pike after the suspect vehicle left the roadway and came to a rest in a ditch. 

Officers found the suspect to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to St. Elizabeth where he was pronounced deceased. 

There is no ongoing threat to the public as the Florence Police Department's initial investigation revealed that the deceased suspect acted alone.
