Healthy Lifestyles Team Challenging the Community to Live Healthier Lifestyles

Participate in a 30-day challenge which encourages participants to make healthy lifestyle choices in five areas.

(Madison, Ind.) – The Healthy Lifestyles team, part of the Healthy Communities Initiative of Jefferson County, is announcing a free community-wide health challenge.

Jefferson County residents are encouraged to participate in the ‘47250,’ 30-day challenge which encourages participants to make healthy lifestyle choices in five areas, representing the Madison zip-code digits.

To participate in the challenge you first do to www.kdhmadison.org/HCI to download and print the challenge form.

Starting May 1, you will keep track of your points daily, when the month of May is over there will be three grand prizes given away.

Healthy Lifestyles teams wants to remind participants that all healthy tasks during this challenge can be completed at home during the pandemic, while people are practicing safe social distancing. This challenge is also offered during a time when people are looking for motivation to make healthy choices.

You can earn a max of 5 points per day by completing the following digits daily:

4- Get 40+ minutes of exercise

7- Sleep 7 hours or more

2- Complete 2 kind acts

5- Eat 5 or more servings of fruits or vegetables

0 – Drink zero sugary- based drinks

Participants are encouraged to follow the Healthy Lifestyles new Instagram page @hcihealthylifestyles to view helpful photos and videos during the challenge. More details can be found on the HCI Facebook page. Search Healthy Communities Initiative of Jefferson County on Facebook.
