Ivy Tech names Kevin Turner Executive Director of Career Coaching and Employer Connections for Madison Area

He will assume this position on April 1st

Ivy Tech Community College of Madison is pleased to announce that Kevin Turner has been hired as its Executive Director of Career Coaching and Employer Connections (CCEC). Turner is joining Ivy Tech after almost 29 years with Madison Precision Products, where he has most recently served as Vice President of Operations and previously held positions in production management, engineering, new model development and human resources administration.

As Executive Director of CCEC, Turner will lead the career development efforts for students and in fulfilling training, education, work-and-learn and placement needs of employers in Jefferson and Switzerland counties. He will join Ivy Tech on April 1.

“I’m pleased that Kevin, who has been a long-standing partner with Ivy Tech Madison, has accepted the role as Executive Director of the Career Coaching and Employer Connections (CCEC),” says Ivy Tech Madison Chancellor Molly Dodge. “Kevin's knowledge and experience are invaluable as Ivy Tech continues our work within our community to establish partnerships with local employers and invest in the development of the Southeastern Indiana workforce.”

While with Madison Precision Products, Turner was instrumental in the development of a benchmark level training and development division, essentially a one-stop shop for human development, talent acquisition and retention. He is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). Turner volunteers locally for the King’s Daughters Hospital Board of Managers and the Cub Manufacturing Council.

"I am looking forward to joining the great team at Ivy Tech Madison and helping to create win-win outcomes for students, companies, and the communities we serve,” says Turner. “Connecting students in the high schools as well as our adult learners with appealing and rewarding careers with employers is vital for the continued success of our region. The best part is that there are already many passionate stakeholders in our schools, businesses, and government with common goals. I am excited to be a part of that, and to build relationships with those stakeholders in the coming months."

The CCEC department, funded on the Madison campus through a grant from the Lilly Endowment, was established in the fall of 2019. This division at the College aims to connect Ivy Tech students and graduates with local employers to gain career experience and professionally develop the workforce.
