On September 16, 2018 at approximately 9:32 p.m. Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of County Road 800 South in reference to a suspicious vehicle. While in the area, Deputy Thomas Mellencamp observed subjects outside of a house on the 9000 block West on County Road 800 South. Through prior investigations, Deputy Mellencamp knew that Joshua Brickson lived at that address and that Joshua Brickson has an active Jennings County Felony Arrest warrant and another arrest warrant through Jackson County.

Deputies made contact with Fonzie A. Bogard who was standing outside in the yard. Deputies determined Joshua Brickson was inside the residence and made several attempts to call Joshua Brickson out of the residence with no response. Deputy Thomas Mellencamp, Sgt. Allen Ritchie, Sgt. Tom Webster, Deputy Cody Low and his K-9 partner Axel, along with Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police made entry into the home. Joshua Brickson and Savannah Brickson were located inside the residence.

While inside of the residence, Deputies observed several items associated with drug use in plain view. Deputy Thomas Mellencamp applied for and was granted a search warrant for the residence by Honorable Judge Jon Webster. During the execution of the search warrant, Deputies located approximately 57 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 5 grams of Fentanyl, stolen firearms from Jackson County, other additional firearms, drug packaging material, Digital scales, Oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia, and over $10,000 in U.S. currency inside the home.
