Jennings County man arrested on child abuse charges

Investigation into injured 2-month old leads to arrest

(Jennings County, Ind.) - On December 14, 2020, investigators with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office arrested Buddy Wayne Woods (22 of North Vernon) on the charges of battery of a juvenile under the age of 14 resulting in serious bodily injury, neglect of a dependent, possession of Marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

The investigation started on December 10, 2020 after Child Protective Services contacted investigators with the Jennings County Sheriff's Office stating that a two month old female had been taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. During the course of four days, investigators interviewed potential witnesses and collected evidence which eventually led to Wood's arrest.

Woods is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on two level three Felonies. Woods bond is currently set at $25.555.00
