Nearly 200 prospective jurors appear to begin the selection process
IT WAS A PACKED COURTROOM IN JENNINGS COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT THIS MORNING AS NEARLY 200 POTENTIAL JURORS WERE CALLED TO POTENTIALLY SERVE IN THE CASE OF INDIANA VERSUS STEPHON MOORE.
30-YEAR-OLD MOORE, OF LOUISVILLE, IS CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF MURDER, 2 COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AND ONE CHARGE OF THEFT. THE CHARGES ARE A RESULT OF AN INVESTIGATION THAT BEGAN IN APRIL OF 2019 FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF 23-YEAR-OLD DONAVON BOOKER OF NORTH VERNON.
BOOKER WAS REPORTEDLY SHOT AT A RESIDENCE IN COUNTRY SQUIRE LAKES IN NORTH VERNON ON APRIL 15TH OF THIS YEAR.
ORIGINALLY ARRESTED IN LOUISVILLE, MOORE WAS EXTRADITED TO JENNINGS COUNTY FOLLOWING HIS ARREST IN APRIL.
THE TRIAL IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH IN JENNINGS COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT, AND IS ANTICIPATED TO WRAP UP BY WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 2ND.
AS OF 3PM THIS AFTERNOON, JURY SELECTION WAS STILL IN PROGRESS.
ALL SUBJECTS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
