There will be a celebration event on Jan. 11 in Madison, IN.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 3, 2022) – King’s Daughters’ Health, located in Madison, Indiana, has officially joined the Louisville-based Norton Healthcare system. King’s Daughters’ Health (KDH) will be renamed Norton King’s Daughters’ Health and becomes Norton Healthcare’s fifth adult-service hospital, the first outside of Louisville. It will be Norton Healthcare’s sixth hospital overall; the health care system also owns and operates Norton Children’s Hospital. Norton Healthcare and King’s Daughter’s Health signed a letter of intent in November 2020 to explore a more official arrangement, one that would build on their existing affiliation agreement for oncology (cancer) services through Norton Cancer Institute at KDH Cancer Treatment Center in Madison. “King’s Daughters’ commitment to quality, their talented providers and employees who support them, as well as their deep connections to community have long been impressive to us,” said Russell F. Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare. “We are honored to have King’s Daughters’ Health become a part of Norton Healthcare. Together, we will ensure exceptional care close to home and increased access to specialty care as needed. We already share similar cultures as proven community leaders with a deep commitment to our employees, to our patients and their families, and to the communities we are honored to serve. Today we are delighted to welcome the providers, caregivers and employees of King’s Daughters’ Health to the Norton Healthcare family.” When the letter of intent was signed, Annie Schroeder, chair, KDH board of managers, and president, Bethany Circle, said both the board and Bethany Circle members believed sharing additional resources and expertise between KDH and Norton Healthcare would benefit patients, physicians, team members Kate Eller System Director, Public Relations Mobile: 281-881-8930 24/7 on-call media line: 502-629-2999 Kate.Eller@nortonhealthcare.org Dave Ommen Public Information Specialist Office: 812-801-0619 Main Number: 812-801-0800 ommend@kdhmadison.org and the community. Given how greater access to health care benefits local communities, the board wanted KDH to grow and thrive well into the future. “The founding members of the Bethany Circle of King’s Daughters’ opened the King’s Daughters’ Hospital because they recognized the need for local families to have access to health services,” Schroeder said. “For more than 120 years, we have continued that mission. Today’s announcement to become part of Norton Healthcare ensures that KDH will remain an integral part of the community for many years to come.” ### About KDH Established by a group of women from the Presbyterian Church on Aug. 25, 1899, KDH celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2019. While maintaining a strong community connection, KDH has grown into a regional health center, serving residents in southeast Indiana and northern Kentucky. Its primary campus and new hospital opened in 2013. Beyond its 86-bed acute-care hospital in Madison, Indiana, KDH offers localized access to care through physician offices in Madison, Hanover, Versailles and Vevay, Indiana, along with facilities in Carrollton and Milton, Kentucky. Additional services in Madison include a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation center, home health and hospice services, and a Convenient Care Center. The modern KDH Cancer Treatment Center opened in 2015 and serves as a Norton Cancer Institute affiliate. As a not-for-profit organization, King’s Daughters’ Health is Jefferson County, Indiana’s, largest employer, supporting more than 900 team members.
