Dog and cat

I'm "REMUS"
I'm a sweetheart!
I'm a happy & well-behaved boy.
I walk really well on leash and try to please you by doing what you ask of me.
I was adopted once and it turns out I'm housebroken & crate-trained too.
I was only returned because the other dog in the household didn't like me.
At the shelter the other dogs and cats like me, but please bring your other dogs to meet me before adoption.
I have a gorgeous chocolate-brown coat with a white collar, white blaze, white socks and even a white tip on my tail.
I'm a Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix who is 5- to 7-years-old and weighs 42 lbs.

My adoption fee is $25 plus the cost of my neuter and rabies vaccination.

My name is "KIT KAT".
I'm a very loving girl.
I will instantly start purring when you pick me up.
You'll enjoy cuddling with me as I'm a pretty gal with soft, medium-length fur.
I really don't like being at the shelter in a cage.
I used to have a home. I'm starting to feel sad and wondering if I'll ever have a home again.
I'm a 2-year-old, brown Tabby with white who is already spayed and up-to-date on my rabies vaccination.
I'm just $45 total to adopt!

My son, Kellogg, is here with me. He really wants to stay with me.
If you adopt me, he's free* if you'll adopt him too.
He's a shy, brown Tabby who has my soft, medium-length fur.
He's only 6-months-old, but has bonded to me.
*There is currently a $45 off special on all kittens & cats who are not spayed/neutered courtesy of the shelter and the Jefferson County Humane Society.

Kellogg also has a $30 sponsorship if adopted with Kit Kat.

This means he would be free if the adopter chooses Pets Alive for his neuter and rabies vaccination.

  • The shelter accepts both STEEL and ALUMINUM cans. The funds made with recycling go into our medical fund. Please rinse out the steel cans well (we don't want to encourage not-so-adoptable critters to hang out around the shelter) and place them in a separate bag from the aluminum cans. Drop both types of cans (remember, in separate bags) in the large labeled bin that is on the east side of the shelter - that's to your left when facing the shelter's front door.
  • The shelter is part of the Kroger rewards program. To participate, register your Kroger card at www.krogercommunityrewards.com and enter NPO number 63224.
  • Support the shelter every time you walk your dog through the Walk for a Dog cell phone app available at Google Play or the Apple App Store. The shelter is listed as the Madison-Jefferson Animal Shelter.
