(Madison, Ind.) – Madison Consolidated Schools announced yesterday that their re-entry plan was approved by the board of trustees.

Superintendent Dr. Studebaker highlighted some points of the re-entry plan that the school feels like are of high interest for families.

The entire re-entry plan in its entirety will be posted next week, for those who would like to read the information in more detail.

The school stated that due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, parents will be able to choose if their student will be attending face-to-face instruction or virtual instruction.

If your student is to choose virtual instruction they will not be allowed to participate in athletic, extra, or co-curricular activities.

The school also announced a few health and safety procedures that will be implemented:

  • Social distancing guidelines will be adhered to as much as possible. Masks will be worn when social distancing is not possible.
  • Buses will run routes with no more than two students per seat and all passengers will be required to wear masks while on board.
  • Wearing masks is strongly recommended while inside our buildings and will be required in certain situations. Certain adults will be required to wear masks while inside buildings.

If your student is to test positive during the school year, they will need to quarantine following health department guidelines, and they will be able to continue their studies virtually.

The school is asking parents to inform the school on how their student(s) plans on receiving academic instruction for the 2020-21 school year. Parents are asked to complete the Academic Instruction Verification Form by Wednesday, July 15.

Classes will resume virtually or face-to-face on August 12.
