MPD Warning Of Scam Phone Calls

The callers are using the actual names of department staff stating that the individual has a warrant out for their arrest, and demanding payments to be made via phone. 

(Madison, Ind.) - The City of Madison Police Department announced that it has been brought to their attention that a person or persons have been making phone calls claiming to be a detective with the Madison Police Department. 

The callers are using the actual names of department staff stating that the individual has a warrant out for their arrest, and demanding payments to be made via phone. 

Cheif John Wallace would like to remind all residents that the Madison Police Department would never contact anyone about having a warrant for their arrest and does not ask for any sort of payment. if you are to get a call like this you are to never give out any personal information over the phone. 

Legitimate companies and organizations will not ask for such information.
