According the American Cancer Society, skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. An estimated 5.4 million people in the U.S. are diagnosed with skin cancer each year. While the risk of skin cancer generally increases with age, it can develop at any time. Routinely check your skin for any changes. To reduce your risk of developing skin cancer, protect your skin by staying out of the sun during peak hours, wearing protective clothing and using approved sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
