Ripley Co. Prosecutor Files Additional Charges Against Former Clark Co. Sheriff

(Clark County, Ind.) – More criminal charges have been filed against the former Clark County Sheriff and his wife.

This morning, both Jamey and Misty Noel appeared in the Clark County Circuit Court with their family and legal representation. After being presented with the criminal charges, Misty Noel turned herself into the custody of the Clark County Detention Center.

She is being charged with five counts of Theft (over $50,000), Level 5 Felonies, and five counts of Tax Evasion, Level 6 Felonies.

Her husband and former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel was arrested and charged with 15 felonies in November. assigning four of the Clark County Jail Maintenance employees to work on his rental property while being on duty and being paid as Clark County employees. Other charges stem from selling and/or trading Utica owned vehicles for personal gain.

Ripley County Prosecutor Ric Hertel was assigned as a Special Prosecutor. He filed additional charges against Jamey Noel that matched the 10 charges filed against his wife.

He remains out of jail on bond.

Misty Noel will be held without bond until her initial court appearance on Monday.
