Traffic stop leads to drug arrest and the seizure of cash in excess of $12,000.00 dollars.

March 11, 2019, @ approximately 10:44 PM Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Linton Spry executed a traffic stop on Michigan Road near Virginia Ave.  As Deputy Spry approached the vehicle, he noted a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the car.  A probable cause search of the vehicle lead to the discovery of marijuana, THC oil and a large amount of cash, which varied in denominations.  The cash, marijuana (approximately 37 grams) and THC oil was seized as evidence.  
 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a seventeen year old male from Hanover, Indiana, and the female passenger was identified as Maggie Miller 19, Madison, Indiana.  The male juvenile was detained and transported to a juvenile detention facility where he faces preliminary alleged charges of Dealing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of THC oil and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.   

 

Miller was issued a misdemeanor summons to appear in court for possession of marijuana.  Deputy Brent Bennett assisted Spry with this ongoing investigation, which is being reviewed by the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office.  All charges are alleged and the accused have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
