Traffic stop leads to the seizure of drugs and the seizure of $13,500 in drug money

A Scipio Man was arrested after a traffic stop in the evening hours of November 27, 2021. The incident began at approximately 6:06 p.m. after a Deputy with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the area of County Road 500 South. The Deputy made a traffic stop on a blue 2008 Honda Civic driven by Tennessee Henry (age 20 of Scipio) after the deputy observed several traffic infractions. After further investigation, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. During the search Deputies located Marijuana packaged for sale, digital scales, THC Vape cartridges and THC wax, as well as $13,500 in cash that was determined to be profit from drug transactions.

Mr. Henry was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jennings County Jail where he bonded out on a $1,755 bond that had been doubled due to Mr. Henry already being on Probation for Dealing Marijuana at the time of his arrest.

Mr. Henry faces preliminary charges of:

Dealing Marijuana- A Misdemeanor

Possession of Marijuana- B Misdemeanor
