Trimble Co. Schools Propose New Hybrid Schedule For Return To School

At this time the school does not know if they will be using this schedule but stated that they are monitoring the COVID data for the county.

(Trimble County, Ind.) – This week Governor Andy Beshear released new guidance and recommendations for the re-opening of Kentucky schools.

Governor Beshear is now recommending that students return to in-person instruction on January 11, 2021, instead of the previously recommended January 4, 2021. Trimble County schools announced that due to the county having one of the highest incidence rates in the state they have not yet made the final decision of when students will return.

As of now, they have students returning on January 4, but with this new guidance and the high incidence rate, they will not make their final decision of a return date until December 30.

The school stated that they did however develop a Hybrid In-Person learning option that could be used to help students return to school sooner. A hybrid schedule would allow the school to reduce the number of students in the building at one time and allows for proper social distancing.

The school would move to Blue and Gold learning days.

The schedule would be as follows:

  • Blue Learning Days
    • Students with the last name letters A through M will attend in-person classes on Monday and Wednesday and would be virtual on Thursday and Friday.
  • Gold Learning Days
    • Students with the last name letters N through Z would attend in-person classes on Tuesday and Thursday and would be virtual on Monday and Friday
  • All students will be attending school virtually on Friday

For families that have siblings in the same household with different last names, the oldest child’s last name will be used to determine if your students will attending on blue days or gold days.

At this time the school does not know if they will be using this schedule but stated that they are monitoring the COVID data for the county daily and will make the final decision at a later time.
