Vevay Man Killed in Early Morning Crash

Vevay man dies in early morning vehicle crash/fire

 

On 02-07-2023, approximately 04:12 A.M., Jefferson County Central Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle crash in the 11000 Block of West State Road 256 in Jefferson County Indiana. The vehicle was reported to have exited the traveled portion of the roadway before striking a tree and catching on fire.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a white Ford Taurus passenger car engulfed in flames. Deputies tried to extricate the driver, however do to the intense fire they were unable to do so. Kent Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Once the fire was extinguished, first responders on scene were able to determine that the driver had succumb to his injuries.

The Jefferson County Corners later identified the driver as 60-year-old male Thomas Sutton, of Vevay, Indiana. The Jefferson County Corners Office has made notifications to Mr. Sutton’s Family.

The crash is still under investigation at this time by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
