#1 Southwestern Falls In Regional To Tell City

Record setting season

A record setting season came to a end on Saturday as the Southwestern boys basketball team lost in the regional 54-48 to Tell City. Tyler Kramer 17 and Foster Mefford with 14 for the Rebels. Southwestern closed out the season with a school-record 25-2 record. Tell City lost in the regional championship to Linton-Stockton 45-36. The miners take on Shenandoah Saturday at 1 in the Seymour Semi-State.

The 2A regional at Paoli saw a sell out crowd of over 4,200 fans. Southwestern had 1,000 fans on hand.

 

 The Trinity Shamrocks are bringing a state title back to St. Matthews.  They won the KHSAA Boys Basketball Championship, 50-40, over Scott County yesterday in Lexington. It's the second time Trinity has won the state title. 8th Region champion, Walton-Verona lost in the Final 8 to Campbell Co. on Friday, 49-42.

    The City of Madison Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering early bird single pool passes for Crystal Beach. The passes are $40 each March 1 through May 24.     A community wide scavenger hunt. Visit as many parks as you can during the month of March, and have fun exploring Jefferson County's parks and nature preserves as you go. To get started, download your Park Hop Passport. It lists the parks and nature preserves, and the clues for each one. Prizes available for youth (ages 18 and under) that complete all clues at 1,5, or 10 parks. Submitting all clues for more than 10 parks will enter youth into the grand prize drawing. Families can have fun and claim kids' prizes at our Park Hop Celebration on April 6th, from 1-2 pm at Heritage Park.
