Hanover Athletics have a outstanding Saturday

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL:

Southwestern wins their 12th game in a row and their 21st of the season with a 67-55 win in their final home game of the season over Scottsburg. Tyler Kramer had 22 points for the Rebels, Forest Mefford 19 and Mathew Williams 14.

HANOVER COLLEGE BASKETBALL:

 With a 72-58 win at Defiance Saturday, the Hanover men's basketball team won its third consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship. The Panthers (19-6, 14-4) have now earned a share of three straight regular season titles, as the win Saturday gives them an outright championship in two of the last three seasons. Hanover will now host all three rounds of the HCAC Tournament, which will take place next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 21, 22 and 23.

 The Hanover women's basketball team had four players score in double figures, as the Panthers closed out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a 73-56 triumph at Defiance. Hanover will begin postseason play at home next Tuesday, Feb. 19, with the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Panthers are slated for a 7:30 p.m. tip against Bluffton (Ohio).

HCAC SWIMMING AND TRACK/FIELD CONFERENCE RESULTS:

 The Hanover men's swimming team concluded competition at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, finishing third overall.

The Hanover women's swimming team wrapped up its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, placing fourth in the overall standings.

The Hanover College men's track & field team made history Saturday, logging a program-best second place finish at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. The Panthers won four events at the Defiance College-hosted meet, as they accumulated 152 points. Hanover's point total marks the first time in program history the team topped the century mark at the HCAC Indoor Championships, with the previous best mark coming last season at 86.5. 

The Hanover women's track & field team surpassed the century mark at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships to place second out of 10 teams Saturday.
