Panthers fall in first round

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16th:

HANOVER COLLEGE: 

The Hanover men's basketball team exploded for 56 first half points en route to a 104-67 triumph over Akron-Wayne on Day One of the Thomas More Jim Connor Classic. Cam Fails season-high 18 points led the Panthers.

Hanover women's basketball team began its season with a 69-64 win over Buena Vista in the opening round of the Beth Baker Classic at Wheaton (IL) College. Alexis Nall paced the Panthers with 16 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Maleha Motter recorded 16 boards and  13 points for her first double-double of the season.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Switzerland Co. over Rising Sun 43-33

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING:

Madison’s wrestling team improved to 4-0 on the season with victories over knocking off Salem 69-12, Switzerland 66-12 and Greensburg 66-18. 

 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17th:

HANOVER COLLEGE:

The Hanover football team had its season come to an end in the opening round of the NCAA Division III National Playoffs, as the Panthers fell on the road to No. 9 North Central (Ill.), 52-0.

Jacob Hendrick ended his collegiate cross country career by placing 175th at the 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Arig Tong closed out a stellar freshman season at Hanover College by placing 115th in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships held at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Tong, who was the ninth highest placing freshman in the race.

 The Hanover men's basketball team posted its best defensive performance of the season, as they defeated Kent State-Tuscarawas (Ohio) 85-47 to conclude play at Thomas More (Ky.) Jim Connor Classic. Cam Fails second game in a row leading the Panthers with 18. The Panthers will return to action at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20, as they welcome nationally-ranked Wooster (Ohio) to Collier Arena.

The Hanover women's basketball team fell just short in the championship game of the Beth Baker Classic, as the Panthers fell to the host-school, Wheaton, 81-72.

The Hanover men's swimming team went 2-1 on the day, gaining victories against Transylvania and Thomas More while losing to host Franklin.

 The Hanover women's swimming team went 1-2 on the day defeating Thomas More (Ky.) but fell to Transylvania, and host-school Grizzlies.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Madison falls to Salem 61-42. Jade Nutley 16 for the Lady Cubs

Shawe falls to New Washington 50-36. Kate Grote 23pts for the Lady Toppers

Switzerland Co. falls to Franklin Co. 49-43

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING:

Madison finishes day 3-1 to improve to 7-1 on year and wins the Wood Memorial Invite. The Cubs defeated Wood Memorial 78-6, Evansville Bosse 64-18 and Pike Central 54-30 but fell to North Knox 46-36 

Southwestern went 1-1 at Brown Co. defeating Scottsburg 58-12 and fell to Brown County 36-29.
