HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY:

Madison boys finished 17th and girls 11th in the 2A division of the Third Annual Columbus North Classic at Ceraland. Southwestern boys were 2nd in the 1A division.

Men's Soccer:  Defeats Thomas More 2-1

Women's Golf:  Finished first at the Olivet Labor Day Classic

Men's Golf:  Finished 13th at the Transylvania Invitational

Madison’s Ryan Thurston made a relief appearance for the Bluefield Blue Jays in the 3rd game of the best 2 out of 3 Eastern Division Playoff Series against the Princeton Rays on Sunday. Thurston worked 1 1/3 innings, gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, 1 run and recorded to strikeouts. Princeton went on to win the game 6-5 and eliminated the Blue Jays from the series. Thurston will report to Dunedin, Florida on September 10th for an invitation only 3 week Rookie Camp.
