HCAC And Hanover Announce 2021 Women's Basketball Schedule

Lady Panthers look to defend their HCAC regular season title.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in conjunction with its 10 member institutions, has announced the 2021 women's basketball schedule. The Panthers are slated to open HCAC play on Saturday, January 16 when they welcome Anderson.

Under the guidance of head coach John Jones, the Panthers will look to defend their HCAC regular season crown after posting a 19-7 overall mark with a 17-1 conference record a season ago. The success carried into the post season as the Panthers claimed several top honors. Graduate Alexis Nall claimed her second consecutive HCAC Player of the Year honor while John Jones, who along with his staff, was named HCAC Coach of the Year.

The conference schedule continues on Sunday, January 17 when they take on HCAC tournament champion Transylvania. Last season the Pioneers and Panthers split the regular season with the Blue and Red taking down the Pioneers at home to capture the regular season crown.

Hanover returns to Collier Arena on Wednesday, January 20 when they welcome Mount St. Joseph before hitting the road for Richmond, Ind. on Saturday, January 23 to take on the Quakers of Earlham.

The road stint continues with a stop at Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, January 26, and Anderson on Thursday, January 28.

On Saturday, January 30, Hanover returns to the confines of Collier Arena to take on Manchester before heading north to area-rival Franklin on Wednesday, February 3. The Panthers currently hold a seven-game win streak over the Grizzlies dating back to the 2016-17 campaign.

Hanover enters a home stint beginning on Saturday, February 6 with a visit from Defiance followed by Franklin on Tuesday, February 9 and Transylvania on Thursday, February 11.

The regular season concludes on the road for the Panthers with a trip to Rose-Hulman on Saturday, February 13 before traveling to Bluffton on Wednesday, February 17.

The conference tournament is slated to begin on Saturday, February 20.
