IHSAA Releases Sectional Pairing for Baseball State Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - A field of 381 teams will begin play next month as the pairings for the 59th Annual IHSAA Baseball State Tournament Series were announced Sunday evening by the IHSAA. 

Sectional games begin Wednesday, May 27, and continue through Monday, June 1, with regionals on Saturday, June 6. Two regional championship games will be played in a doubleheader format at the same site with each winner advancing to the four-team semi-state on Saturday, June 13.

The four state championship games will be played at Victory Field in Indianapolis, home of the Triple-A franchise Indianapolis Indians, for the 28th year overall. The games will be played in a doubleheader format on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20.

Host schools will announce playing schedules which will then be added to the online brackets at MaxPreps.com the week before the tournament begins.

G1: Columbus North vs. Whiteland Community
G2: Columbus East vs. East Central
G3: Franklin Community vs. G1 winner
Championship: G2 winner vs. G3 winner

 

Class 3A Sectional 29 at Batesville

G1: Franklin County vs. South Dearborn
G2: Lawrenceburg vs. Batesville
G3: G1 winner vs. G2 winner
G4: Greensburg vs. Jennings County
Championship: G3 winner vs. G4 winner

 

Class 2A Sectional 45 at South Ripley

G1: Southwestern (Hanover) vs. Switzerland County
G2: Brownstown Central vs. Brown County
G3: G1 winner vs. G2 winner
G4: Austin vs. South Ripley
Championship: G3 winner vs. G4 winner

 

Class A Sectional 60 at Shawe Memorial

G1: Trinity Lutheran vs. Crothersville
G2: Jac-Cen-Del vs. Milan
G3: Rising Sun vs. Oldenburg Academy
G4: Shawe Memorial vs. Hauser
G5: G1 winner vs. G2 winner
G6: G3 winner vs. G4 winner
Championship: G5 winner vs. G6 winner.
