Ryan Thurston Signs To Pitch With The Chicago Dogs Of The American Association of Professional Baseball

Former Madison Cub & Western Kentucky Hilltoppers pitcher, Ryan Thurston, has signed to play with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association of Professional Baseball League. team.

Last year Thurston signed as a free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays organization June 7, 2018 and played at Bluefield in the Rookie Appalachian League where he pitched in 13 game, starting four with a 1-2 record and 0.87ERA. He was released from the Blue Jays on March 28, 2019.

The Dogs are in their second year of playing. The baseball league’s season opens May 17.

  

Former Boston Red Sox, Butch Hobson is the manager of the team and Thurston will be a part of the pitching staff with former Chicago Cub pitcher Carlos Zambrano.

Home games are played at Impact Field in Rosemont, Illinois, a Chicago suburb near O'Hare Airport.

The Chicago Dogs will play at Kokomo Municipal Stadium May 24-26 against the Milwaukee Milkmen and in Gary, IN against the Southshore Railcats June 3-6 along with a weekend series July 19-21
