WOMEN’S GIVING CIRCLE HOLDING FALL OPEN HOUSE AT THOMAS FAMILY WINERY

Jefferson County residents are invited to learn more about and join the Women’s Giving Circle at their annual Fall Open House on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The free event will be held from 5:30-8pm at the Thomas Family Winery, 208 E. Second Street, in downtown Madison. Free charcuterie 
and a cash bar will be available for attendees. For planning purposes, RSVPs are required by Friday, October 9, 2026.

The Women’s Giving Circle program began in 2012 and is a group of philanthropic-minded donors of all ages, means and backgrounds who combine their financial strength to make a positive change for women and children throughout Jefferson County, Indiana. 

Anyone who joins the Women’s Giving Circle within the calendar year (January 1 to December 31) will be part of the voting group to determine grants made for the year. Membership in the Women’s Giving Circle is open to anyone in Jefferson County and requires only a $100 tax-deductible contribution. Junior memberships are $50 and open to youth ages 21 and under. Of the $100 annual donation, $75 goes in a fund for immediate granting and $25 is placed in an endowment fund for future granting. The junior membership is split $25/$25. During last year’s competitive grant cycle, the Women’s Giving Circle awarded $20,973 to nine nonprofit organizations with programs and projects that serve women and/or 
children in Jefferson County.

Assets of the Women’s Giving Circle are held and maintained at the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County (CFMJC). Established in 1991 by a group of local volunteers, CFMJC fulfills the mission of building a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects, and passions of Jefferson County.
