Shawe Brings Back Terry King As New Girls Basketball Coach

Two local youth score top fives in Indiana Junior Golf Tour event

Terry King has been hired as the new head girls’ basketball coach at Shawe Memorial. King, a former Southwestern and Hanover College head coach, replaces Zack Goodwin who resigned last week.  King coached the Hanover women’s team from 1990 to 1992 and from 1981-1987 was the Southwestern girls basketball head coach. King was also a one-time assistant girls basketball coach at Madison.

Madison’s Ryan Thurston made another relief appearance for the GCL Blue Jays on Wednesday in a 4-3 loss to the GCL Yankees West.  Thurston worked the 6th inning and retired all 3 batters he faced.  Thurston recorded a fly out, a strikeout, and a ground out. For the season Thurston has made 7 appearances, has a 1-0 record, has worked 11 innings, given up 6 hits, 4 walks, 11 strikeouts, 2 runs, has a 1.64 ERA, a .167 batting average against, and owns a 0.91 WHIP.
