Community invited to maximize their impact through two matching opportunities

(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Ripley County Community Foundation's Annual Day of Giving is coming up on Friday, November 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Day of Giving provides the community with a unique opportunity to support the causes they care about while maximizing the impact of their charitable gifts through two special matching programs.

The hope of this event is to keep charitable gifts within the local community, ensuring that every dollar contributes directly to the betterment of the place we call home. By supporting the causes and organizations that make Ripley County a wonderful place to live, we can strengthen our community’s future and build a permanent source of funding that will benefit generations to come.

“Every gift made on the Day of Giving is an investment in the future of Ripley County,” said Amy Streator, Executive Director of the Ripley County Community Foundation. “Whether someone chooses to support an existing endowment, establish a new fund, or invest in one of our Community Granting Funds, their generosity strengthens our community and helps ensure resources are available to meet both current and future needs.”

Two Matching Opportunities Available

This year’s Day of Giving features two matching opportunities that allow donors to increase the impact of their contributions.

First, the Ripley County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved a special matching opportunity as a token of appreciation for the community’s generosity. Donations made to endowed funds during the Day of Giving will be eligible to receive a match of $0.50 for every $1 donated. The maximum amount of matching dollars that a single endowment fund can receive is $5,000.

In addition, thanks to Lilly Endowment, Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow, Phase IX initiative, gifts made to Community Granting Funds can be tripled, receiving a $2 match for every $1 donated.

All matching dollars will be committed on a first-come, first-served basis while matching funds remain available.

Why Community Granting Funds Matter

Community Granting Funds are among the Community Foundation’s most flexible resources. Unlike funds that support a specific organization or purpose, Community Granting Funds allow the Community Foundation to respond to emerging opportunities, address pressing needs, and invest in projects that enhance the quality of life throughout Ripley County.

Community Granting Funds support many of the Community Foundation’s most impactful initiatives, including:

  • Sally Morris Community Impact Grants
  • Small Grants Program
  • Proactive Grants to Ripley County’s eight food pantries
  • Turnover Hunger
  • Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
  • Ripley Youth Outreach
  • Scholarships
  • Ripley County Film Fest
  • Wreaths Across Ripley County

By supporting a Community Granting Fund on the Day of Giving, donors provide the Community Foundation with the flexibility needed to address the community’s greatest needs both today, and forever.

Celebrating Community Impact

To further demonstrate the power of local giving, the Ripley County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors will announce the recipients of the second round of the Sally Morris Impact Grants. Investing $50,000 back into the community.

The Ripley County Community Foundation is committed to Connecting People Who Care with Causes that Matter and invites the entire community to participate in this special day of generosity.

Donations can be made in person at the Community Foundation office at 13 E. George Street, Suite B, Batesville; online at rccfonline.org; through Venmo or PayPal; or via telephone at (812) 933-1098.
