Southwestern And Madison Advance To IHSAA Sectional Title Games

Southwestern and Madison will play for their sectional titles on Saturday after winning in the semi-finals on Friday.

For the Rebels they are looking for their third title in a row after they defeated Henryville 53-30. Southwestern used a 22-5 run in the 3rd to pull away for the win. Southwestern improved to 17-8 on the season will take on Providence at 7pm after the Pioneers defeated Switzerland Co. 53-43.

Rebels were led in scoring by Foster Mefford who scored all his 17 points in the second half. Billy Eccles had 12. You can hear the IHSAA 2A Sectional Championship from Southwestern beginning at 6:45.

In the Switzerland Co. game Coby Chase led the Pacers with 13. Pacers end their season 6-18 and a 9 game losing streak.

Madison advances to the 3A Corydon Sectional game to take on #1 ranked Silver Creek after defeating Scottsburg 67-59. Mason Welch 23 and Kaden Oliver 17 to lead the Cubs. Madison will be looking for their first sectional championship since 2007.
