ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN HANOVER LANDS FOUR IN JAIL

3 ADULTS AND 1 JUVENILE WERE INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT

On January 24, 2023, Deputy Devlin McMindes was on routine patrol when he was approached by a male. The male had obvious injuries and his                   face was covered in blood. The male reported to the Deputy  that he had been robbed at gunpoint on Glad Street in Hanover. He later recounted                   being struck multiple times with a crowbar.

The male was showing signs of a head injury. EMS was called to the scene to assess his injuries. He was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital by helicopter. While waiting for EMS the victim informed the Deputy that he had come to Hanover from his home in North Vernon to visit 23-year-old Paige Melton. The victim advised that when he arrived, there were three other males at the residence. He did not know these males prior to this meeting. At some point during the visit, the three males demanded the victim send them money via Cash App. A gun was then put to his head. He attempted to send the money but the transaction would not go through. He allowed the males to take his phone in an attempt to convince them to let him leave. At that point, one of the attackers beat the victim with a crowbar. The victim was able to escape the house and leave the scene.

Detective Charles Miller arrived and took over the investigation. Detective Miller applied for and was granted a search warrant for 238 Glad Street in Hanover.
