Columbus and Bartholomew County Currently Investigating a Death

An adult male found deceased with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

(Columbus, Ind) - Law enforcement officers in Columbus and Bartholomew County are currently investigating the death of a man who was found in the Tool Dynamics parking lot on Wednesday, February 26.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. Columbus Police Department Officers responded to the parking lot, located at 835 South Marr Road, regarding to the call of a person injured and bleeding. The officers arrived a short time later and located an adult male who was deceased with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Later officers located his vehicle, which a Silver colored 198 Honda Civic in a parking lot in the 2700 Block of State Street.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team which included representatives from the Columbus Police Department, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Bartholomew County Prosecutors Office, and Bartholomew County Coroner’s office.

Investigators are also requesting that anyone who resides or owns businesses in the area with video or security cameras to contact the Columbus Police Department at 812-376-2600.
